A journal for days when nothing happened. It has no text field.
People for whom a quiet day is the best kind. On-call engineers and nurses whose good shifts are the ones where nothing happened. New parents and carers. People in recovery, or living with a condition that flares, who already count the calm days in their heads. Anyone who finds gratitude journals a bit much. The app never asks what happened. It only asks whether anything did.
Open the app and press Nothing happened. That is the whole entry. If you want to be more specific, Be more specific offers "Nothing much", "Absolutely nothing" and "Something almost happened". Tap Change to pick a different one later, or to remove the entry.
Tap Something happened under the button. The app asks whether you are sure, then for one word: work, health, family, weather or other. The day is recorded as an anomaly and shown in a different colour in the Record. What happened is not recorded. This is not that kind of journal.
Say "Hey Siri, nothing happened in Uneventful". The day is logged without opening the app, and Siri tells you the streak. The phrase also appears in the Shortcuts app.
The Today screen offers to log yesterday if you missed it. It was probably nothing. Days older than that cannot be logged; they are lost to history and show as unrecorded.
Consecutive days of nothing. It stays alive until midnight of the day you haven't logged yet, so an evening entry still counts. An anomaly ends it.
A heatmap of the year, one square per day. Tap any square to see that day. Use the arrows to look at earlier years. The cards underneath count days of nothing, anomalies, the nothing rate, the longest streak, the most uneventful month and the unrecorded days.
On the Record tab, Your year in nothing renders a card you can share with the system share sheet. It is an image; nothing is uploaded anywhere by the app.
Long-press the Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Uneventful. The small widget has the same button as the app and logs the day without opening it. The medium widget adds the last five weeks. Lock Screen widgets show the streak.
In More, turn on Daily reminder and pick a time. The app schedules a local notification for each of the next two weeks' evenings and skips any day that is already logged. If the switch turns itself off, notifications are disabled for Uneventful in the Settings app.
In More, Weekly summary sends a one-line notification each Monday morning about the week that just ended. On 1 January a notification opens your year in nothing, where you can also share a printable Certificate of an Uneventful Year.
Uneventful is free. In More › Fund nothing you can pay once to become a Patron of Nothing. You get gold ink for your stamps, which you can switch off, and nothing else. Purchases are handled by Apple; Restore purchases brings a purchase back on a new device.
More › Export shares the whole record as a CSV file: one row per entry with the date, kind, category and time. A spreadsheet of nothing.
More › Erase the record deletes every entry after a confirmation. There is no undo, though there was nothing in it.
There isn't one. That is the point.
The record lives on your device. It is included in your normal iPhone backup, but it does not sync between devices and the app never sends it anywhere.
No. It has neither.
